Thank you for choosing MaPiú. To ensure you get the most out of your MaPiú products whilst remaining safe at all times, please follow the simple user instructions as listed below.
Lighting
- Always remove all the packaging and decorative elements before lighting your candle
- Place a candle on a plate to ensure the wax is contained should a spillage occur
- Cut the wick to approximately 0.5-1 centimetre to ensure the flame is tame – you can use a wick trimmer or scissors.
Long wicks can cause uneven burning, dripping and damage to the glass - The first burn is the most important as candles should burn for one hour per inch in diameter of the candle. Always burn for 3-4 hours to ensure an even melt pool. If the wax is not allowed to melt from edge to edge of the glass or tin, it will create a memory ring. Once a candle has this memory ring, it will continue to tunnel down and burn that way for the rest of its life
- Do not burn your candle for long periods at a time. If you would like to burn your candle all day, give it 1 hour intervals between every 3-4 hours of burning time
Burning
- Don’t ever leave a burning candle unattended
- Always burn within sight and extinguish before leaving room
- Never use a candle as a night light or while you may fall asleep
- Do not move the candle while it is lit since hot wax could spill and your could burn yourself
- Burn candles out of the reach of children and pets
- Always leave a free surrounding area of at least 10 centimetres in radius around a burning candle
- Do not burn candles on or near anything that could catch fire
- Only burn your candle when levelled on a heat resistant surface
- Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time
- After each subsequent burn, let the wax cool and trim off the charred wick. This stops the candle from smoking and reduces soot on the inside of the container. It also stops the wick from getting too hot and burning your candle too fast.
- Never let the flame come into contact with the container as glass may become too hot during use and could crack
- Do not use if the container is cracked, chipped or scratched
- Allow the wax to solidify before relighting, touching or moving
- Extinguish when ½ centimetre of wax remains at the bottom of the container and do not relight
- Preferably extinguish candles with a candle snuffer and do not blow them out
- Never use water to extinguish a candle. Water can cause the hot wax to splatter and might break a glass container.
Wax melts should only be used in appropriate wax melt burners. Add one piece of the wax melt pack at a time until your preferred level of melted is reached. Do not overfill the wax melt burner initially as wax will spill over. If wax remains in the burner bowl after use and you wish to remove it, wait until the wax cools and hardens, then apply a small amount of gentle pressure on one end of the wax until it pops out. Do not use metal or sharp objects to clean out wax as this may crack or damage the burner or cause injury. Do not use the wax melt burner if you notice a crack in the glass or ceramic.
Failure to follow these instructions could result in a fire hazard.
- Remove all packaging before use
- Do not use if you notice a crack in the glass or ceramic
- Only use with a good quality tea-light. Do not use with a maxi tea-light, votive or other candle
- Keep the wax melt burner and tea-light out of the reach of children and pets
- Do not burn the tea-light or leave the wax melt burner on/near anything that could catch fire
- Never leave a burning candle unattended or move it when lit
- Ensure the wax melt burner is well ventilated. There must be at least 6.5 centimetres of space above the flame within the wax melt burner
- Keep foreign objects out of the wax pool and do not add water or any other substance
- Keep the tea-light wick trimmed to 3-5 millimetres and remove any carbon build up
- The wax melt burner becomes very hot during use, do not touch or move whilst alight
- Extinguish the tea-light if the flame becomes enlarged or begins to smoke
- Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame. Once extinguished allow wax melt burner to cool before moving
- Ensure you extinguish the tea-light of the burner before you go to sleep
- Wax melts will eventually lose their scent and the leftover wax should be discarded
Direction for Use
- Place the wax melt burner on a level, flat, cool, heat resistant surface and away from draughts, other heat sources and flammable objects. If used on a non-heat resistant surface damage may occur if the wax melt burner is used without a protective plate, tray or similar product
- Position the wax melt on the top bowl of the wax melt burner
- Insert a tea-light in the bottom base of the wax melt burner
- Allow the heat of the tea-light to melt the wax and fragrance to be released into the room. The wax melt burner will become hot while in use – do not touch. Heated wax can also cause burns. Allow the burner to cool completely before touching or moving
- Avoid contact of wax melt contents with eyes and skin, if contact occurs, flush with water. If irritation persists, contact a physician
- Do not allow the pool of wax to completely evaporate so the top bowl becomes dry whilst a tea-light is still lit. This could cause the wax melt burner to scorch and/or smoke
- Let the wax melt burner completely cool before re-use
- Do not use metal objects to clean out the wax and do not apply pressure when cleaning or removing wax, as this may crack or damage the burner. Take care not to damage the glass or ceramic
